Many students are completing their school or university studies this month.
「今月、多くの学生・生徒が、学校や大学の勉学を修了します」
their school or university の表現に注目してください。school は high school を指しています。
以前に、私どもで作った教材にShe is graduating from high school this year.という例文が使われているけど、graduate は大学を卒業するときしか使わないのではないか、という質問が来たことがあります。
それで、アメリカの出版社に勤める人、コピーライターをやっている友人、そして、高校を卒業したばかりの大学生にメールやメッセージを送って訊いてみました。
それぞれ、次の回答が来ました。
・Yes, you graduate from high school.
・Yes, we do for sure. “Graduate” is used for anyone who is graduating no matter what level of education.
・Yes, “graduate” is definitely used for completing high school. That’s very common.
Graduation is a major educational victory.
「卒業は、大きな教育の克服です」
But ceremonies for American graduates are restrained this year because of continuing concerns about COVID-19 risks.
「しかし、新型コロナウイルスの危険への不安が続いているため、アメリカでの卒業式は今年控えめになっています」
restrain は「～を控える、～しない」という否定的な意味を表す動詞です。

のように使います。
Graduation is the act of completing studies or earning a degree from a school, college, or university.
「卒業は、学校や大学から単位を得て勉学を修了するという行為です」
「単位を得る」を表現する動詞に earn が使われていることにも注目しましょう。
It is also a school’s official ceremony to give diplomas and awards to students.
「生徒や学生に卒業証書や賞を授けることはまた、学校の公的な式典でもあります」
diploma は「卒業証書、単位認定書、資格認定書」などの意味です。
The verb “graduate” and the noun “graduate” are spelled the same but pronounced differently.
「動詞の graduate と名詞の graduate はつづりは同じですが、違う発音になります」
